In this condo renovation, we embarked on a transformative journey, stripping everything down to the bare bones to convert a dated family rental into a contemporary residence for the owner's full-time living. By eliminating the wall separating the Kitchen and Living room and extending a built-in banquette from the Kitchen, we achieved an expansive open-concept layout. This not only enhanced space for meal preparation and storage but also amplified functionality and adaptability for hosting gatherings.
The focal point of the Living room was reimagined around the existing fireplace, flanked by new built-ins that offered additional storage. Removing a column between the entry hall and dining area further opened up the space, seamlessly accommodating the expanded banquette without compromising comfort.
In the entry hall, we replaced the conventional coat closet with a custom-built combination of closet and bench, serving dual purposes while providing ample storage for coats, boots, and pet accessories.
The bathrooms underwent a rejuvenation with practical vanities and natural stone tiles, creating an illusion of greater spaciousness. Every aspect of this remodel was meticulously planned to blend modern aesthetics with enhanced functionality, ensuring a home that is both stylish and practical.
