FURROW GREEN

This three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath renovation transformed a dated home into a refined mountain retreat that feels warm, timeless, and elevated without leaning rustic. Originally intended to be completed in phases, the project quickly became a full remodel after the clients immediately demoed the fireplace, kitchen, primary bath, and laundry room upon receiving the keys.

The original double-sided slate fireplace dividing the living and dining rooms was replaced with a dramatic linear fireplace wrapped in vertically applied Shou Sugi Ban wood slats reclaimed from a Super Bowl halftime stage. Visible from all sides, it became the defining focal point of the home. Cedar-wrapped columns and casements were added throughout to soften transitions and bring warmth and texture to the open-concept layout.

The kitchen maintained its original footprint while incorporating custom upgrades including a patinaed metal range hood, ceiling-height cabinetry, new custom fronts, and a masculine green palette layered with rich natural materials. In the primary bath, the layout was completely reconfigured for improved functionality, replacing the built-in tub with a freestanding soaking tub and expanding the shower. Graphite limestone flooring, Calacatta Gold tile, chocolate zellige, and leathered granite create a sophisticated, layered material palette. Throughout the home, collected furnishings, organic textures, and custom architectural details create a welcoming atmosphere deeply connected to its mountain setting.
